What is Fitfood exactly?

We are a meal service that delivers fresh (never frozen) prepared meals twice weekly through out New Zealand, developed by our team of chefs. You can choose to make orders every week or sign up to our subscription service. All meals are fully cooked so all you have to do is heat ‘em up—each meal is ready to eat in under 3 minutes. So no more worrying about what’s for lunch or dinner. Take our meals anywhere you need to go, so they are perfect for work lunches and they can always be waiting for you in the fridge when you get home! No shopping, no chopping, no cleanup. But also no artificial ingredients or unnatural nasties, just wholefoods portioned to make exciting healthy gourmet meals!

So we do all the hard work for you—sourcing high-quality ingredients, making sure each meal you eat is nutrient dense and packed with the good stuff, and expertly cooking your food to order so it tastes fresh and delicious.

Signing up is super easy, but here are 4 things that’ll help you maximize your Fitfood subscription experience.

1. Once you sign up for your subscription, you’ll get a weekly delivery of your chosen meals in your Meal Box or the meals chosen by our Chefs in the Weight Management and Gourmet Selection Packs unless you choose to skip a week or cancel your subscription.

2. You’re in control of your subscription. You can make decisions about deliveries weeks in advance.

3. It’s easy to skip a week at any time. Going out of town? No problem. It just takes the click of a button to skip a week or more.

4. Since there’s so much planning involved with shipping fresh meals every week, we need a few days before your order goes out to make sure you will get the best service and meals by selecting your charge day you can select your delivery day.

Monday - Tuesday delivery each week

Thursday - Friday delivery each week

We recommend you make your first order on the day you would like your first delivery to arrive and choose the correct charge day - Monday for a Tuesday delivery OR Thursday for a Friday delivery so your orders are in sync as we always ship your first order according to our ordering/delivery schedule.

Why should I sign up for a subscription?

Our subscription option adds more convenience to your lifestyle plus you get a deal! So you save time and money! Eating healthy and getting in shape is a lifestyle! With our weekly shipments you will keep your fridge stocked and you will stay consistent and enjoy the extra convenience.

Are there any initiation or cancellation fees? Is a subscription impossible to cancel?

No way. We don't like fees anymore than you do. You only pay for the meals you choose and delivery. You can cancel with just a few clicks anytime before 6pm of your chosen charge day - either Monday or Thursday.
We hope you will stay but we would never make it hard for you to leave.
When can I expect my order?
We currently have two delivery days each week an early week dispatch and a late week dispatch so customers can choose to have meals from the start of the week or later in the week.
Our 2 delivery days each week are Tuesdays and Fridays.
Pick Up orders for collection are Mondays/Tuesdays and Thursdays/Fridays each week.

Are your meals suitable for Gluten-free and Lactose-free diets?
Our meals are made in a facility where foods containing gluten,dairy and tree nuts are present. Please contact us for further information
Do your meals contain any preservatives?
We do not add any preservatives to our meals. Our food products have a longer “shelf life” due to our modified atmospheric packaging. Our meals have a refrigerated shelf life of 5 days. Every meal has a “Use By” date on the front meal label.
What should I do if my discount or promotion code is not working?
If you have a discount or promotion code, please make sure you follow these steps to make it work:

1. Sign-up for a FitFood Account.

2. Sign-in to your Account before placing your order.

3. Select your desired meals or supplements from our menus and proceed to checkout.

4. Enter your code on the Shopping Cart Checkout page. You must be logged into your account for the code to work.

5. You will see your discount applied to your order. Please keep in mind that discount and promotion codes are for one-time use only and are issued with an expiry date. If you are still having trouble using your code, please contact us at
What is the best way to heat my meals?
Our meals will taste best if they are heated from fresh,
either in the microwave and oven safe food tray provided or placed on your own
dinner plate. Follow these simple steps:

1. (If you have frozen your meals) Defrost meals overnight in the refrigerator
before reheating. This will make it quick and easy to reheat your meals.

2. If your meal includes a separate container of sauce then
remove before heating.

3. Peel clear plastic film off the meal tray then place in
microwave on full power for approximately two and half minutes (1100 Watt Microwave) or if you have a lower wattage microwave please cook for 3 minutes or until your meal is piping hot. You can also place in oven for 10 minutes at 180 degrees until your meal is piping hot.

4. If your meal has a separate sauce then heat sauce for the
last 10 seconds. Many of our sauces can be served cold. If you would like to
heat your sauce, place it in the microwave for no more than 10 seconds, or
alternatively in a saucepan for one minute.

5. Your meal is now ready to eat direct from your container
or plate.

Microwave heating is the most convenient heating method however you can heat your meals in a conventional oven if you need to heat more meals at the same time, please make sure to remove all plastic film from trays, then simply place on oven rack to heat.
Where do you deliver to?
We currently offer home and business address delivery nationwide throughout New Zealand. We recommend if possible to use your work address for deliveries. As soon as you order you will receive a delivery confirmation email to notify you of your delivery day and date.
We deliver twice weekly and our delivery days are Tuesday and Friday each week.

We can deliver to rural address customers by delivering to the nearest rural agent, orders will then need to be collected from the rural agent.
Please note orders will need to be collected from the rural agent on the day of delivery, Fitfood cannot be held liable for orders that are not collected on the day of delivery.

Are my meals safe to be transported?
All our packaging for transport is a refrigeration specific insulation box which is proven to be just as effective but environmentally friendly rather than the standard polystyrene box. This is purpose designed to keep your food cool and safe for transport for up to 24 hours. Deliveries by Fitfood are made by using special non toxic ice packs as well as purpose specific transport boxes with insulation for ALL courier orders to ensure your meals stay cool to meet the highest food safety and quality assurance standards. We use an overnight trackable delivery service for peace of mind.
Will I lose weight or put on weight with these meals?
As with every healthy eating plan, our meals can be tailored by a professional to help achieve your personal health, fitness and lifestyle goals. Our meals can be used for body specific goals of weight loss and to build lean muscle or just to maintain a current body composition. The most important things to understand for your intended body goals are Calories consumed and Calories expended according to your current body weight / composition status relative to your activity level. If you know your macro nutrient requirements, please review the nutritional information on each meal page so you can order meals according to your dietary requirements or goals. If you would like to start using our meals as part of calorie or macro nutrient controlled diet we recommend using a dietician, fitness professional or body coach to get you started or get in touch with us so we can help or point you in the right direction.
What if no one is home when the courier arrives?
Fitfood instructs Courier Post to leave orders at the address whether someone is home to receive it or not. When we send the order we will automatically send an email to let you know your order has been shipped & is on its way. Please ensure someone can be home to receive your order or leave instructions for the courier to leave it somewhere safe. Our packaging and ice packs will keep your food cold and safe until it can be refrigerated.
Can I pick up the meals?
Pick ups are available from our kitchen at Kingsford Smith Drive, in Rangiora. Just order online, and at checkout choose the "Rangiora Pick Up" option. You will receive an email confirming when the meals will be available, however the pick up times are either late Monday/Thursday afternoon (3.30pm to 5.30pm) and during the day Tuesday/Friday (8am to 3pm).

Can you get meals to me on a certain day?
Please refer to our delivery page for detailed delivery information. If you require an order outside of our normal delivery schedule times and on a special day, please contact us at before ordering and we will do our best to meet your requirements.
How do I store my meals?
Once you have received your Fitfood order, your meals should be stored in a fridge. If you would like to extend the meals life for longer, store them in the Freezer. This extends the life of your meals by another 3-6 months.
How long do your meals last?
Our meals are individually Modified Atmosphere packaged to preserve freshness and seal in flavor. The meals will last 5 days in the fridge depending on the meal and providing due care is taken by the customer to receive and immediately refrigerate them. Every meal has a ''Use By'' date displayed on the meal label. Meals can be frozen to extend their "shelf life''.
